Houston Responds Coalitions receive $2.2M Grant!

On June 26, the Rebuild Texas Fund granted Houston Responds (HR) $2,175,000 to expand it's local coalition construction operations and grow volunteer recruitment efforts to repair an estimated 800 homes in Houston. These funds also will reinforce HR’s training, fundraising, and operational support for it's response and recovery coalitions.

This grant is a testament to the service of hundreds of churches and thousands of volunteers across Greater Houston helping restore over 2,000 homes since Harvey hit. With tens of thousands of families still displaced or living in damaged homes, more and more local churches are answering the call to re-engage the long-term recovery efforts, thanks to the help of the Far From Finished Campaign. Unfortunately, our local coalitions had reached the capacity of their repair operations due to the lack of construction and volunteer management staff. The Rebuild Texas Fund recognized this barrier, and this grant ensures that HR’s local coalitions will increase the number of families they are helping to restore.

Houston Responds and all our coalitions wish to thank the Rebuild Texas Fund, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and OneStar Foundation for their belief in and support of our efforts.
