These special guests gathered to share ideas visit Harvey work sites, As a result of the relationship built with HOUSTON RESPONDS Northeast Regional Network, we were able to visit a team from Vancouver, WA working alongside City Life Church and the associate minister, Randy Hill. Seeing it firsthand was both inspiring and insightful to see what is required for a true rehab. Mr. Pierre also shared his story of gratefulness after receiving help from the network. At Settegast Heights Village, visitors saw the tenant assistance and education program being run by LynnMaries Turner, an employee of the Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation. We are hoping to eventually work with and through SH Village to serve the community at large. This 4-hour crash course in recovery work inspired all to play a bigger part in the recovery effort. I am excited about the contacts, hoping that it might lead to even more ecumenical partnerships for HOUSTON RESPONDS.
